Foreign MS Leading to PhD & PhD Scholarships BATCH-11
The University of Swabi (UO.S) started functioning as University in 2012, primarily known as the Anbar Campus of Abdul Wali Khan University, Mardan. With dedication and selfless devotion to education it has shown remarkable growth in very short period of time_ The university has gained the confidence of Academia and Administration for its strict adherence to the quality control and the state of art facilities that it provides to its faculty and students. Applications under the Higher Education Commission funded project “Provision of basic academic and allied facilities at the University of Swabi” are invited from the candidates in the relevant fields for the award of MS leading to PhD & PhD scholarships preferably at top 200 ranked universities of the World as per QS ranking in the fields mentioned below:

Management Science, Economics, English, Computer Science, Sociology, Geology, Peace & Conflict Resolution Studies, GIS and Remote Sensing,
The selection of the candidates will be made purely on merit considering their academic achievements and teaching aptitude.
Minimum Eligibility Criteria:
1) These scholarships are exclusively for Pakistani /AJ K nationals only.
2) The candidates must have minimum (16) years of education for MS leading to PhD or MS/Mphil/Equivalent Degree for direct admission in PhD in the relevant field from HEC recognized University. Preference will be given to the candidates having MS/Mphil Degree.
3) The candidate must have first division (in annual examination system) or minimum CGPA 03.00 out of 4.0 in the final degree and should not have more than two 2nd Divisions and no 3rd Division in the entire academic career.
4) Valid GAT Subject/GAT General”/GRE* Test Result Card. *where GAT Subject is not available
5) The candidates must have a valid IELTS / TOFEL I GRE as per requirement of the respective foreign university, before their final selection.
6) The selected applicants will have to secure admission by themselves into MS/Mphil leading to Phdor PhD program in the specified disciplines, preferably in world top ranked 200 universities.
7) Maximum age on closing date:
a) 40 years for full time faculty members of Public Sector universities / employees of Public sector R&D organizations.
b) 35 years for all others.
8) Candidates who are already availing HEC/Govt./University or any other scholarship are not eligible to apply.
9) HEC guidelines for awarding scholarships shall be followed from selection to successful completion of the award.
Application Procedure:
The candidates are required to submit application on the prescribed form available at university website URL://www.uoswabi.edu.pk/download. The following documents are required to be submitted along-with the applications form:
1. Attested photocopies of all education testimonials, domicile, CNIC, 2 recent passport size photographs.
2. Attested copy of valid GAT Subject/GAT General/GRE.
3. Two page CV/resume.
4. One page “Statement of Purpose” related to applicant’s aspiration to pursue higher studies in the particular field and brief description of research interest.
5. One Page Brief Study Proposal.
6. A Bank Draft or online deposit to Account No. 0323-204588555, United Bank Limited, Swabi Branch of Rs. 1,000/- in favor of the Treasurer, University of Swabi as processing fee.
7. Candidates who are already serving in government/semi-government/autonomous organizations, should apply through proper channel.
NOTE:
1. Candidates will be recommended by the University Scholarship Management Committee from shortlisted candidates
2. Nominated candidates will be offered faculty positions after qualifying the University Selection Board.
3. The Awardees will have to execute a bond with the University of Swabi to serve the university for at least 05 years after completion of PhD studies and joining at the university.
4. During the period of study under scholarship either salary or stipend will be paid in the light of university rules & regulations and as per HEC FDP guidelines.
5. Application Forms must reach to the office of the undersigned through registered mail or courier service, latest by 29th April, 2016. Incomplete applications! received after due date will not be accepted.
